Dear Colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to the Global Photovoltaic Conference 2021 (GPVC 2021) to be held in July 7 (Wed) – 9 (Fri), 2021 at Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju, Korea.

We have suffered a lot over the past year from the COVID-19 Pandemic. In addition to the extreme weather that is getting worse in recent years, the impact of the climate crisis will become even more serious in the near future.

At the core of the climate crisis lies excessive carbon emission from the continued use of fossil fuels. Therefore, in order to fight against the climate crisis, achieving carbon neutrality is no longer a declarative agenda, but a historic mission of this century, which calls for a drastically increased use of renewable energy sources.

Photovoltaic, as one of the leading renewable energy technologies, has reached an annual global installation of almost 120 GW, and is in the spotlight as a new growth engine for the energy industry. Even stronger growth in the photovoltaic and related industries in the future is expected.

GPVC is an international photovoltaic conference and the largest photovoltaic-related event in Korea. In particular, in GPVC 2021, we celebrate its 10th year. Satellite pertaining to the carbon neutrality and photovoltaic industry will be organized to present a vision on the future photovoltaic, which will contribute to the making of national policies on the carbon neutrality.

Gwangju is an advanced base for the Korean photonics industry and also is a city where you can encounter a variety of culture and tradition. GPVC 2021 will be an opportunity for researchers to have a wonderful time to enjoy the taste and beauty of Gwangju along with technical presentations on R&D achievements and the exchange of information.
